Image generation settings

Overview

Image generation and editing are currently supported with OpenAI's DALL-E 2/3 and GPT-Image models. Dall-e models support image generation only.

When using GPT-Image models, you can switch between Create and Edit modes. Edit mode allows you to modify existing images in chat or attach new images from your Photos library or Files app.

All settings can be also changed in each chat.

Default model

Set the default model for image generation and editing. All new image creation chats will start with this model. You can also change the model for individual chats.

Default size

Set the default size (and orientation) for the chosen model. The dropdown shows available sizes for the selected model.

Default quality

Set the default quality for the chosen model. The dropdown shows available qualities for the selected model.

Additional settings

GPT-Image models also support moderation and background settings.
